Pfc. Max Idom served with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, Mike Company. He was Killed In Action during Operation ESSEX. His name stands proudly on the Mike 3/5 Wall of Honor alongside the Marines he fought and died with. Semper fi, Brother Marine. We will never forget.

Operation ESSEX

AN EMPTY PLACE

MAX WAS A FUN-LOVING KID THAT NEVER REALLY HAD A CHANCE TO REACH HIS POTENTIAL. HIS DECISION TO JOIN THE CORPS WAS MORE OF AN ESCAPE FOR HIM AND A CHANCE TO REALLY BELONG. THE ABSENCE OF HIS QUICK WIT AND SENSE OF HUMOR LEFT THE WORLD OF THOSE WHO KNEW HIM WITH A VOID WHERE ONLY MEMORIES RESIDE. ~KEN SESSIONS, FRIEND
